Because you can be too happy
Home!

Sad Songs For Happy People, my first CD, is out.  Exclamation point.  You can stream the whole thing at www.joeconley.bandcamp.com.  And pay there to download part or all of it.  Or, on this site or there, you can order the actual physical CD, stuck into a cardboard wallet (no plastic case) with six panels of lyrics and whatnot.

Call the sound alt-country or mostly-acoustic Americana or bluegrassified country.  Plenty of fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and dobro--and an occasional electric guitar.  Lyrically people call it quirky and funny and stuff like that.  They say their favorites are "Will You Be My Ball & Chain?" and "My Wife Loves Me, Why Won't You?" and "I Met Her on the Internet."

It's a studio-recorded deal, with pros engineering and producing and solid musicians strumming and picking.  They made me sing in key and everything.  The studio work was actually not much fun, at least for me.  But it's nice to have it done--only took four years!--and nice that people tell me they're enjoying it.  I hope you, whoever you are, will too.
